In all likelihood your only chance is to find someone with an updated ROM in their Wavestation A/D, have them remove it, copy it to a blank ROM chip of the same format, and then for you to fit the ROM chip copy in to place in your Wavestation A/D. It requires an updated ROM chip to be physically placed on to the PCB, and apparently Korg does not have anymore of them in stock. Although none of these quotes directly state it, they all allude to one thing: the Wavestation A/D's operating system cannot be updated through sysex.
We have an EPROM programmer, so if we could just get those files somewhere, we could upgrade his A/D with no problem. Now, my question is: does anybody has those Korg Wavestation A/D v1.25 EPROM files and is willing to share them? We'd much appreciate it. they said they haven't got those update files anymore, which is kinda strange, but OK - let's believe them for a minute.
My friend has a Korg Wavestation A/D with an older v1.18 OS and since we've found out that the latest OS for A/D is v1.25, he tried to contact Korg and see if it can be arranged somehow, but no way.
